The problem with inventing time travel is everyone you know never know if it worked. The moment someone is sent into the past they create a new reality. when you travel back to the 'present' you are traveling in the future to either your new present where nobody knows what your talking about or you travel to the old present which is not impacted by your past actions. If you return to your new present, those who sent you to the past will think you did not survive.
We are all traveling forward in time. 60 secs and we're a minute in the future. 60 minutes and we're an hour into the future
It's not about belief, as science is a process that requires skepticism. You're supposed to question theories, not just accept them. Anyway, so far, this theory has withstood experimental testing. Results have upheld relativity time and time again. I answered "possibly", though, because the current state of physics is kind of in a ennui. No big breakthroughs in quite a while and no ideas on which direction to go. So who knows that the next big jump in knowledge will bring?
I'm not sure. I listened to some physicists talk about time moving slower for someone traveling in space, but I don't comprehend how this is possible. I still try to understand, but for now, I will chalk this up to a mystery with no solution. Neil Degrasse Tyson said the best representation of this is in the movie Interstellar.
... it's just a matter of WHEN it happened!
It has ALREADY happened
